Troubleshooting:
1. During installation a message may appear indicating the
program cannot write to a ".dll" file. For example, you may
get a message like:
"Cannot write to the file c:\windows\system\wininet.dll" or
"Cannot write to the file c:\windows\system\urlmon.dll".
Probable Cause: Windows is presently using these files.
Solution: You should choose IGNORE in response to this
error message and the installation will continue. At the
end of the installation you should get a message confirming
that the program was successfully installed. If you get a
message that the program was NOT successfully installed
please contact technical support at service@progressplanner.com
2. When you attempt to run Progress Planner Professional, the following message appears:
"Unable to find file PPPro_be.mdb".
Probable Cause: File moved or installed in directory other than
default directory.
Solution: This file is located in the directory you specified
for the program installation. (Default location for this file
is "c:\Program Files\Progress Planner Pro\PPPro_be")
3. The last two digits of the date in the Goals list in Step 2 and Tasks list
in Step 3 do not fit in the space provided.
Cause: Progress Planner Professional uses the short date format of
M/d/yy to conserve space. If your machine's short date format
is set to display dates as MM/dd/yyyy then the date will
be cut off in some fields. Note that this issue will not affect the
operation or the printing of reports. Changing
this setting is optional.
Solution: Change computer short date format as follows:
(1) From the Windows Start menu select Settings
(2) Select Control Panel
(3) Select Regional Settings
(4) Select the Date tab
(5) Select the Short date style M/d/yy from the drop down list
(6) Click on the Apply button
(7) Click on the OK button
4. Progress Planner Professional functioned normally for a period.
Now an error occurs when attempting to start Progress Planner Pro.
Probable Cause: Necessary files have been moved or deleted.
Solution: Rerun setup from the downloaded ProgressPro.exe file
and re-install the program in the same directory you used for the
original installation. Do NOT uninstall the program or you will
loss all the data you have entered.
5. In the header above the Goals box and Tasks box the number 4 appears.
Probable Cause: Progress Planner uses a commonly available
font called Monotype Sorts to display a check mark in the
header above the Goals and Tasks boxes. You are probably
missing this file.
Solution: You will need to install the font file mtsorts_.ttf,
which is located in the directory where you installed the
Progress Planner files.
(1) From the Windows Start menu select Settings
(2) Select Control Panel
(3) Select Fonts
(4) Select File - Install New Font
(5) Choose the path to the file mtsorts_.ttf
(6) Click OK
6. If you have the full version of Access 97 or Access 2000
and you click any Access database, the run-time application
attempts to run.
Solution for Access 97: Use the following command line to
properly register the full version of Microsoft Access 97
(1) Click Start, and then click Run
(2) Type the following command line:
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" /regserver
Solution for Access 2000: Start Access 2000. This will
automatically register the full version.
